Can I still do it?

This is more of a hobby than an art. I define cardboard models as replicas of things and objects that are primarily made from cardboard, paper or plastic card which attempt to approximate the likeness from which they are patterned.
I got interested in this hobby in my youth maybe from cutting out patterns during art class in Kindergarten and Grade school. Soon my scissor skills were put to good use – making my own toys. Unable to buy the more expensive toys, I started to build my own versions from cardboard. I made most using discarded cigarette cartons, staple wire and/or scotch tape.
I have fond memories of hurrying from school after being inspired by reading comic magazines and books. My subjects were mostly airplanes, spaceships and robots. My mind was haunted by the images and the only way I can get it out of my system was to build models. Back then, no one from my family or friends shared my interest.
However, when I finished highschool I abandoned this hobby and relegated it as just another childhood fetish. Late 2005, while I was surfing the web I chanced upon a site that featured cardboard airplane models. I was amazed at the impressive models that were showcased. I never realized that what I considered then nothing more than just a childhood phase - was in fact a real craft. I wondered if I still had what it took (and the patience!) to build cardboard models.
In less than a week, I built two robot models based on Anime cartoons popular during the 1970s. It was not really pretty to look at, but hey, it was a start.
