MindzleRobots,Cyborgs and Spaceships
I find mechanical things intriguing. I have destroyed countless toys trying to figure out how each worked. This got me into a lot of trouble because they belonged to my other siblings. This interest in mechanical stuff is reflected in my sketches of robots and cyborgs. Robot subjects are comparatively easy to draw than either the male or female form. They do not have to display emotion and need not be anatomically correct.
I think that the fascination with robots is universal. Maybe one is amazed how something inanimate can imitate life and simulate consciousness. Or is it a longing to be something more? Show me someone who hasn’t dreamed of being stronger, faster or even live longer? To have the ability to fly, control the elements and be beyond restriction.
I also like to design and draw vehicles and aircraft. However, I am not easily satisfied in just drawing them. There is a need in me to build them as well. This need for tactile connection is what drives me to build cardboard models or sculpt. In a way, I can not help it.
