I was just drawing and trying to come up with a very basic story. From that I’d add more to the drawing. So the first character I drew, in this instance, was the freaked out character on the left. I see him as kinda frozen with fear. Everybody else is trying to figure out why he is in such a state of fear.
It was fun to work in this way. Same sketching concept as the Samurai Sketch sessions, but once a story starts to show itself, just run with it. I loved the laundry alien sketch, where I first really allowed myself to go that route.
In this sketch I really enjoy the main character, and one of the background ones, who is shrugging his shoulders. This just makes me laugh. Evidently I am easier to make laugh than most people…
